GusGus are a well know indie-dance band from Reykjavík, in Iceland. They were formed in 1995, initially as a film collective, but quickly became known for their unique blend of electronic Icelandic techno-pop.
"Add This Song" was a single, released on forward thinking German dance music label Kompakt. This remix was developed and submitted for inclusion on the single release and was given extensive creative feedback and encouragement by GusGus member President Bongo (Stephan Stephensen).
This remix version, "Churning Dub" was one of the earlier remix versions and has a much more left-field, warped approach to the track.
The finished Voltergeist remix ("Throbbing Heart Of Dark Desire" Mix) was the first Voltergeist remix completed for another artist and became widely circulated amongst DJs, although never made it onto the single release. It was approved by Stephensen, although was not officially endorsed. It is not available to purchase.
